Dear authors, We are sending you the instructions for the poster and oral presentations, which might be available at Youtube and the link submitted through Google forms (see tutorial bellow).
Attention to the submission deadline, 26th September 2021. Kind regards Organizing Committee
Abstracts approved for poster sections will be presented as short videos, uploaded at Youtube, around 3 to 5 minutes long. Each abstract will have only one video. The video may be made in Portuguese or in English, in your preferred software, and may attend to:
Be 3 to 5 minutes long
Present the conference logo (available attached).
The video may be recorded with the image of the speaker or solely the slides with audio. Slides might be clearly visible with appropriate reading size and font. We encourage you to make tests and verify the result before uploading it at Youtube. Some softwares to record the video are Google Meet, Zoom, Canva, Apowersoft, OVS estúdio, MS-Power Point.
The video might be uploaded at Youtube following the instructions available at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1J3NEu_KedY. We will follow the same instructions as the XXXVIII Encontro Anual de Etologia. Click to play the tutorial of how to upload the video and insert legends.
In the options of visibility, define as public access (your video will be available for everybody). The title of the video at Youtube might be: Insetos Sociais em Rede 2021 – “Title of the presentation”
In the description of the video at Youtube, the following info might be added:
Insetos Sociais em Rede
Title of Presentation
Name(s) of the author(s)
Small abstract with 150 words (this is not the same submitted; it is only a brief description of the study).
In order to promote accessibility, it is mandatory to insert automatic legends.
The link to access the video might be forward through google forms (click here).
The deadline to submit the link for the video is 26th September 2021.
The speaker may present the study in a live format in the day and time scheduled in the program, or make it by previously recording the presentation.
It is recommended (not mandatory) that the speaker makes the video and forward it to the Organizing Committee, following the same steps for the poster presentations (video might be available at Youtube and the link sent by forms.
The videos for oral presentations, though, might be 8 to 10 minutes long and have automatic legends.
This recommendation is important to assure the presentation will occur without problems during transmission, because some live presentations may fail due to connection instability.
Abstract submission extended until July 31th! (Finished!)

Our event has changed, it has gotten bigger. We are now part of the event “Social Insects in Network”, which includes the V Social Insects Workshop, the VI Termitology Symposium and the XXV Myrmecology Symposium. If you already submitted your abstract to the V Social Insects Workshop, do not worry. You do not need to submit the same abstract again, but feel free to submit another abstract if you want. If you already registered for the V Social Insects Workshop, you are automatically registered for Social Insects in Network. However, if you are not registered yet, register before submitting the abstract.
All participants registered for the event are invited to submit abstracts from the 31 of May to the
07 of July, 2021 (extended until 31 of july!). Abstracts submitted after the deadline will not be accepted. The authors will be informed until the 31 of July 2021 about the acceptance or not of their abstracts. The communication will be via e-mail and, in case of acceptance, the authors will also know if the abstract was accepted for oral or poster presentation.
The abstract must be submitted using the form at the bottom of the page, in which the file must be uploaded in docx, previously formatted according to the details listed below. Please, check the abstract format before submission. Abstracts which do not conform to the standards outlined here will be returned to the author(s) with a request that they are edited to meet these standards. We also provided a template on this page, just before the summary submission form.
The abstract must not contain references and not exceed 2500 characters. As a general presentation structure, please provide a brief introduction to the topic, a brief description of the methodology used and the results and conclusion. Please, provide also 3 keywords separated by commas (e.g. division of labor, smell, nervous system).
The merit of the abstract will be evaluated by a scientific committee. Abstracts may be rejected or accepted for poster or oral presentation. This decision will be at the discretion of the scientific committee, according to the originality, scientific contribution and relevance of each work. The best abstracts not selected for oral presentation can be accepted as posters.
